A coworker (and bike commuter) is looking for a donated 3 wheeler (any condition) to help out a person with disabilities and limited funds. Here's his request:

"A case worker (friend of mine) contacted me. She is helping a person on disability who needs a 3 wheeled bike.
Apparently, they are expensive for both new and used. I offered that if someone found a bike needing repair, I could fix it.
We are looking for a 3 wheeler in any condition. Feel free to pass this note along."

Here are a couple of trikes on CL. You can always ask if they can lower the price.

Is it a Recumbent-Quad or HPV grocery getter? It had a "TINKER TANTRUM" decal. The number on the side of the roof indicated "Santa Fe Century" (ride?). I took this photo at the Santa Fe Whole Foods parking lot.

    San Diego Recumbent Mind:

I got a question via email hoping you can help answer,

I recently discovered a website called "Atomic Zombie". It's concerned with bicycle modification and customization. I'm trying to find people in the greater San Diego area (I live in Escondido) who are doing this sort of activity so I can ask some stupid newbie questions and maybe get some mentoring before I start doing it on my own. I'd appreciate it if you could put me in touch with any of your members who could help me with this.

I designed and welded my own recumbent in 1998. Rode it for 10,000 miles until it was broken by a door kicking it over at the Solana station.

Seen coming up the steep section of LJ Mesa (incl. baby) - and then pictured at the Easter Cross - this morning:

Uploaded from the Photobucket iPhone App

Nice guy - he let me test ride it around the cross a few times.

PS! Saw Shady Gaga at the cross, too.

This is a commercial I found on Youtube as I was searching for an alternative scooter other than an electric model. Pacific Coast Cycles (in PB) may have them in stock. Small package and maybe a good solution for a multimodal commute. The bottom left 28 minute video is very entertaining and may seduce a viewer to call the 800 number. ;-)

Sometime around 2002, I was looking to rent an office space in Oceanside. One of the tenants was working on something that looked like this, very much a prototype. I'm wondering if this is the result.

What would be cool would be to do a trike (2 wheels in front) and market it as a human-powered Segway competitor.

This Cruzbike had not seen sunlight in a while. I plan to ride it more in the new year after upgrading the from 2 to 3 front chainrings. Hey Bill, I really like how the Schwalbe marathon plus tires roll. I plan to transfer it to the Cruzbike soon.

Yeah, the marathons are good for FWD. less chance of wheel spin,

I'd love to try a Cruz. Supposed to climb well and I like the simplicity,

I don't know if it will fit in the Transit. It barely fit in a new Town and Country Minivan.

I'm thinking of using the surfboard/kayak pads/straps I used with a kayak, to mount this onto the roof of the car, to get to events (Fiesta Island).

I can't commute until I get the rest of the lighting system, which is a shame because this would be nice and warm inside. I'm going to set it up this weekend and I may hit the Leucadia Farmer's Market on Sunday with it.
