If you guys really want somebody else to consider joining you I think you need to give a more accurate description of the meetup location as well as the time.

I guess it was a bit vague. Figured if someone was interested they'd ask specifics. Sorry

Very short notice. I'm catching the early bus up to Escondido tomorrow morning. Will take off from the MacDonald's on Del Lago Blvd (north of Via Rancho Pkwy) around 6am and go up Highland Valley Rd to Camino del Aguilla and go hopefully all the way up Starvation Mountain (probably will have to hike-a-bike on the last bit. It looks like dirt trail on Google Earth). Head down Eagle Crest Dr back to HVR into Ramona. Then if I'm not too sick of climbing by then I might take Black Mountain Rd up to Mesa Grande, down to 76... Might head up East Grade Rd and then down South Grade into Harrah's casino in Rincon (where I'd catch the bus back to Del Lago and then to San Diego). If Starvation Mtn takes too much out of my legs, though, I might just hang a right on Archie Moore and just come down 67 to Lakeside and ride on home...

Anyone has tomorrow free and feel like hanging with the mountain goats is welcome to come along for a bit or all of it (just turn up at the MacDonald's on Del Lago Blvd by 6am and look out for the cheeky little cyclist in yellow ONCE kit). I won't be going fast, though. I had never gone up Camino del Aguilla and Starvation Mtn before. Will be stopping to take lots of photos (and drinking in the view). Hopefully will top out before it gets too hot.

Thanks, Paul! I got up to Escondido but the mountains were all fogged up so I decided to catch a couple more buses and rode up Palomar instead (I insist on getting to see the view when riding up icky mountains!). Went up to Boucher lookout. It's open now and the ranger is even letting visitors go up the lookout tower. :oD Came back down South Grade a bit too late and missed the bus by a few minutes (it only comes once every 70 minutes or so), so I decided to ride back to Del Lago via Cole Grade, Lilac & Champagne Blvd. It turned out well. Was warm in Pauma Valley, but surprisingly cold when bus 20 dropped me off at City College Sta in San Diego!

Would do the Dirty Devil with you guys but I had just put a new rear tire in and want it to have a pavement-only honeymoon period... or something like that. :o) Have a great ride Saturday!

Open invite for those able to keep a moderate cruising pace of 14-16mph. Monday the 16th I'll be taking the Davidson on its first 200k. Leaving from Santa Fe Depot at 0700 and cruising up the coast to San Clemente and back. Will probably take the 5 instead of going thru Pendleton but not fixated. Join for part or all. Meatless Monday at Hess Brewing or Tiger!Tiger! for the after ride.

I'm back to a maybe on this. Doing Kitchen Creek 200 tomorrow, so we'll see. Definitely Hess, though! (Movie nights at T!T! are over, so it's closed.)
