Visited a school today for work and SDGE had the ENTIRE street blocked off for their own private use. How is it that a private company can commandeer the use of public parking and streets for their own use? Does anyone know what permits are required for this and if I can ask to see them? I'm really getting tired of getting pushed around by the corporations in this city.

There's surprisingly little info on any of this stuff on the web. Am I the only one pissed off? What can we do?

What do you mean "their own private use"???

Were they throwing a company party or were they working on something?

They were "working" on "something". Meaning, they were sitting in their trucks the entire time I was there.

Maybe we should get SDG&E involved in planning San Diego's Sunday Streets/Cyclovia event.

    Haha

There you go. I'm sure they'd be all for it. I DID think about swiping one of the many NO PARKING signs they had littered everywhere.

    ...with engines idling, no doubt...
