I had an idea this evening, why not have a potluck dinner? I can host, and can cook up something as well. I'm in North Park, closer to University Heights and Hillcrest. There is parking available here, and I can also put bikes in here. Just a thought... If there is interest, a date and time could be worked out. I'm so far thinking weekday, why not? How does 6:30pm on a Wednesday sound?
Cool sd_mike, I'm definitely down if it's after Mon. 1/10 (when I return from a 10-day trip to NY/NJ) and is not Sun. 1/16 (tentative date for our next seasonal Bike Union picnic) and is not Tue. 1/25 (last Tue. of every month is our Bike Union meeting) and is not Sun. 1/30 (day of my birthday 35+ mile coastal group ride (Urban BS Beverly's idea) with more details t.b.a. soon in Local Events). Phew! Anyone have anything else to plan around? 6:30pm on a weekday sounds chill, that works. There's a recipe on vegweb.com that I've been wanting to try out called 'Best Vegan Mac and Cheese in the entire world...seriously' so this would be a great reason to cook up a big ol' batch of it. And if we don't flier for this, perhaps the attendance would stay down below 50.
No fliers please! Unless the venue changes, I don't see being able to have more than 20 people... and that might be crowded. I'm so far looking at the 12th or the 19th. School begins on the 24th, so I'll be busy after that.
sd_mike:So, which date works best - 12th or 19th? and how about 6:30pm? I could make it 7pm, it doesn't really matter at this point.
6:30pm next Wed. the 19th then? A week from today. One way you can guarantee to keep the numbers low is to whisper your address directly to all who say they'll be there as opposed to posting it publicly.
