From the Filthy Sailors who led the incredibly successful Pizza Port Pub Crawl on Bikes in June, 2010 (80 riders, 65 miles visiting all four Pizza Ports between San Clemente and San Diego!) -- here comes their next project:

When: Saturday March 5th <strike >February 26th</strike>, at 11:00AM
Ride blog/website
Registration.

The Filthy LandLubber Pubcrawl takes us in a 37 mile loop with start and finish in Oceanside, and makes re-hydration stops as follows:
Meet at Breakwater Brewery, Oceanside, at 11:00AM; leave at 11:30
8 miles to Oceanside Aleworks
7 miles to Mother Earth Brewery
6 miles to Lost Abbey
6 miles to Green Flash Beer
10 miles to Pizza Port Carlsbad Village

$35 gets you beer at each stop, t-shirt, pizza at Pizza Port, and above all - a great ride! Deadline for signups to be guaranteed a t-shirt is 2/12. Otherwise you can pay up to the day of, I think, if this works like it did last year.

For ride details, see below poster and the ride web site, which includes payment details.

Discuss this insanely out-of-sight ride here!

I've camped at San Elijo State beach and it was $6.00 per person if you bike in. The campground is 10.7 miles south of Pizza Port in Carlsbad, so it's pretty close. I don't think you can do reservations with "hike and bike", but don't quote me on that. The last time we biked there and camped it was very easy and we had a great spot right on the beach. I don't know how many campers are allowed per site, but from other "hiker/biker" campsites I've been to they try to cram as many as they can in each site. I'll try to track down some more info and post it if I get any. It is an off season, so I don't anticipate any availability problems. Hope that helps.

My plan is to take the train with you Sigurd, camp at San Elijo, and bike home the next morning. Anyone is welcome to join me in that.
