Cecil:Sigurd, from your Strava track I had assumed you and Hans were together.
No: Judging by the sunlight I'll say I went through there three or four hours before Hans did.

PS! Not that I am thinking anybody here would do such a thing, but when you name your photo, don't make it the same as the location!
    :face-devil-grin:

Man that's an easy one, maybe I can snag it tomorrow and finally get in the game.

Good job, and great start in the game!

I did, too - but still couldn't figure this one out. I (think) I could read "Operating Machinery Training", but that fourth word on there was too challenging to decipher.
  6.
I thought it would have been easy since it's right across from the HC farmers market and some of you may have been down that way.

It took me a while but it came to me. It kind of looked like a union badge. So i started googling all the local unions in the area. It's the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 139 building on normal st.

Last tag was Washington Street Skatepark.
Thanks to RLee, I got to attempt his nearby crazy hill-- nuts! All I could handle on 34-26 - hit my toes a couple times.

    Now get this:

  7.
Somehow I knew where the last tag was but Cecil already got to it first. They shutdown that unaauthorized skatepark last year.

That was unauthorized? They spent an awful lot of time building that thing over years. That used to be an open flat surface. That amazes me that something like that could just be built and used for that long without any authority over the spot.

It was built guerrilla style in 1999-- following the example of Burnside in Portland. Similarly, it has had the cooperation of the local government since at least 2002. It is open right now. Not sure what happened last year.

I don't remember if this is a repeat of an earlier shot, but I'm too lazy to scroll through 26 pages of posts to find out. My original idea was to post a fake tag with the TJ arch in the background, but figured this would be an easy one to get a weekend scramble going.

Last tag was the old Cafe Noir on 9th Ave near Island Ave.

That's a nice evening shot Lisi. I got the caffeinated motivation thing working and decided I needed to get in the game. Here's the tag and I'll be getting the next one up shortly. The weather definitely feels a lot cooler than yesterday, at least by the coast. There may be a change a comin'.

Ride well and be safe out there.

This caught my eye as I was cruising through the main drag of town. It's apropos I think and should be easy enough to spot.
I hope this fulfills the requirement of being an OBvious icon for our game.

A perfect day in the neighborhood!

    OKB

    ShadyGaga,

I guess great minds think alike. Ha! :face-devil-grin:

There are many instances where I've taken multiple images that might make good candidates for tags. I'll pick one and the others will be considered for another day. I too have a "duplicate" tag that was recently posted. The Japanese Friendship Bell on Shelter Island was one that I considered using in the past but opted for something else.

    ============= =============

This has happened to others as well I'm guessing. The game is fun and entertaining for many reasons; one of which is getting out and "really seeing" the physical beauty and the landmarks of our own city. Iconic landmarks, hidden bridges, dirt trails, vast vistas and even the stars of the night are all part of the first hand visual experience that biking provides us. There are also the sounds, smells and those things we can touch and feel that are a part of this first hand experience. You don't get that in an automobile, widows rolled up, climate control on, radio blaring, and your focus on the road as it should be when driving. Bicycles are holy things for sure.

Ride well and be safe out there,

    OKB
