Hans:No kidding. The ravine, and concrete grass border, are the only way to get this one. I'm not one to like being spoon-fed, but this one will have to be grabbed by a local. I don't see any other clues other than the color of the benches, and possibly the concrete pad that they're on. How about the same view, standing back 10'-20' ?

Because I remember the timing of the posts, I have a pretty good idea what neighborhood it's in but that's all. I was going to search via google street view, but a clue would help.

Sorry guys! I used to live in this neighborhood so this park bench always stood out to me due to its odd design.

Click this link for a higher resolution photo of the tag, at a slightly different angle, taken that same day.

The following photo relates to the location of the current tag, but does not represent the actual location of the tag:

    Boo!

Yes, the tag is visible from Google StreetView.

You know what? Let's just call this last one an example of a rotten tag. For those interested, this strange set of benches was donated by the Rolando Women's Club and it overlooks Clay Park (92115), where the Boo Boulevard Carnival is held each year. I guess it's not that notable and I only remember it since I lived across from that park when I was an undergraduate at SDSU during which I saw it almost daily.

    Let's give this another go...

That looks a lot more familiar! I am out of the loop for a few days and can't make it out there, however, so somebody go get it.

PS! Clay Park was one of the places I Google-Map checked out as a possible location for the last, now deleted, tag, but I couldn't find the benches in Satellite View: Even now that I have been told this is in Clay Park, I still can't find the benches.

    PPS! Creative photography, Sariously!

What kind of post processing were you trying to do? PS Express (by Photoshop) wprks quite well.

If you're just trying to apply standard color effect filters, Instagram and Hipstamatic work well.

I could say that I am being considerate. I could also say that I have been out of the loop for a while. But in reality, I am not that sure exactly where this is - I would have to go look for it as I am not that familiar with the profile of the skyline, and haven't really had the time to go look.

Hans - you could have taken a group photo!

Since the 21 bicyclists rode there by night, and I'm one of them, I may be able to retrace the route but not until this Friday.

I realized I didn't have the time tomorrow to get to the tag I wanted so I had to knock out something tonight. This should be fairly easy which is just fine. Feel free to capture the whole scene when you take your photo.

It was some beautiful weather tonight and I believe we have more of that on tap tomorrow. Ride safe!

The previous tag was on the corner of Laurel and Curlew facing south.

I was gonna get that tag tomorrow, but may settle for just the Bruce instead since I'll be passing it anyway.

This may be a good time to reiterate - and I am saying this with no reference to any particular tag or location - that tags should be super-duper easy to find in order to maximize the number of riders who could potentially participate in the game.

Here's an example (please note that this NOT an actual tag):

    Get it?
  3.
Thanks for that clarification, Sigurd. I had some time over the past couple of weeks and really wanted to participate but I had absolutely no clue where many of the tags were.

Easy does it! Not to beat you over the head with it or anything, but here's another tag that would meet the "easy" requirement:

Let's see if the next tags meet the requirements!

Back to our regular programming...the last tag was at the Mariott Hotel Marquis in downtown. The next time you visit bring a quarter and look for Koi fish food dispenser and feed the fishies.

This Monday the whole country remembers a great man. This PROMENADE was named after him. What great homage it is to remember that man by taking a bike ride here. If you get the two buildings to the left and a portion of the building to the right then you've got it. BONUS: Since I won't be going downtown until Tuesday it would be nice to have photos of the plaques of quotes from this man, if you can find it along the way.

For my last tag, I tried to get back further, but my iPhone camera wasn't really cooperating with my ineptness, so I had to cram in as to get the post up, knowing I was out o'town until Tuesday night. Today I rode past there and took a daytime shot that isn't needed now.
    Point taken. :face-monkey:

Last tag was at the Childrens Park but I rarely see kids and families there because it has become a safe haven for the homies. In some cities this would be considered a wading area but this area had signs of "No wading allowed."

Rode by that very place less than an hour before Mark posted it. Looks like afternoon sun, though, so Mark must've been there yesterday afternoon to take the picture - he probably went there straight after having caught the tag at the fountains.

One more thing I've wondered - why to they shut off the fountains at night? This area would look beautiful with the water all lit up, and nicely tie together the Convention Center, Gaslamp and Ballpark after dark.

Perhaps those fountains are on a timer. The big fountain near the Science Center runs late in the night except for the last Friday of each month. Go figure.

In Portland, there are several open public places that are wading areas and interactive fountains for small and big kids alike.

    It was a fenderrific day!

I took a few photos for the next tag last Saturday but nothing turned out nice except for this one and I had my Brompton with me inside the store. So if forum members would accept this photo as the next tag then they won't have to wait until Tuesday afternoon....So while Nick was deciding on what yummy SCOOP he wanted to savor and which CANDY to spend the spare change he had left...I took a photo of a colorful bling fixie parked near the store. How is that for an eye-candy?

I'm thinking Mark new what I was planning when he saw the route I posted for the taco ride. He did a good job not saying a thing about it to me, or anyone else, ahead of time.
I decided not to do a group shot for the next spot, as to possibly pull more "BSers" into the game. Tomorrow morning I'll post.

Either way, both locations are right there for most UBSC rides!
