Do you see this sign? Just look at it. LOOK AT IT. Do you know what this is? This is a motherflippin' "BICYCLES MAY USE FULL LANE" sign. It is the baddest sign in the bicycle traffic sign inventory. It tells them other vehicles on the road, "CHILL. I GOT this lane." Do you have one of these signs on your commute? NO YOU DO NOT. You are still told to get off the road, or ride in the gutter. Cars, PLEASE. Does my sign say, "MAY USE FULL GUTTER"? No it DOESN'T. It says LANE. So use another one, or just wait till I think it's safe for you to pass. Do you want one? OF COURSE YOU DO. Write your mayor, councilmember, traffic engineer, that little old lady that runs the school library, your crazy Uncle Joe with the one glass eye, EVERYONE, that you want these on your road.

Last pic was Santa Fe Depot.

I hope to see these multiply and increase. There is nothing ambiguous about this signage, unlike the discredited and confusing (to some) "Share the Road" signs.

    Thanks Geoff!

    Nice tag, Geoff!

Tell me about the sign, Geoff (and others): Is this the first and so far only such sign in the City? Or are there others that I have missed in my travels, that you are aware of?

I believe OKB mentioned (on infrastructure thread) these signs were to replace the other ambiguous sign in San Diego. Surpriesed to see it so soon. That is great!

I posted the other four signs I saw (all on the same roadway) in the Infrastructure thread. Short comments added there, too. These are the first I've seen. However, as mentioned by OKB, the street workers have taken delivery of their first batch, so I assume we'll start seeing these roll out at about the same rate as sharrows. Location should be easy to figure out, and I should have picked the more "scenic" sign to tag, but I went with the first one I saw. This should go no later than Saturday, given a certain group riding that way.

As if two people on bikes aren't considered nerdy enough, Rich and I spent at least 10 minutes on the side of the road gazing at the satellite-view maps on our phones looking for this place.

I remember seeing the current tag few weeks ago while walking around this neighborhood. Thanks to Google Street View, I traced where I walked to confirm the hunch. Unfortunately, I didn't plan on going there this week. Below is the Google car when I spotted it on Gilman last week. (note that the current tag is far away from Gilman)

I think I know where this next tag is located. I may not be able to get it for a day or so. I have yet to get medical clearance to ride; maybe today.

I'm just now getting the last tag's altered meaning. I guess the anesthesia is finally wearing off. I can see again! Ha.

    OKB

  3.
Go get it, OKB. I would if I had a clue where it is!
  4.
Perhaps a clue is in order: ------------> there is a Farmers' market this afternoon near the current tag.

That's us. Tag I had in mind to use I think would be too tough for the "easy to find" rule so I decided to skip on it and will take another pic for the tag in the AM.

I have no idea where this is. Somebody go get it so we can learn the location. What a cool bit of wall art. That's what makes this game so engaging! Seeing art in our city that is often times new to some forum members, but may be an everyday experience to others. Nice Tag!

Hey San Diego Bike Commuter Community!

I'm a Canadian bike adventurer who's riding her bike and the bus from Vancouver BC to Rio de Janeiro for the UN Earth Summit (Rio+20) in June. Hans is hosting me and was nice enough to let me participate in this awesome tag-o-rama you've got going on. Love it.

Would you believe that I rode around to all three airports looking for this one, and I finally found it. (Don't believe me - Canadians are regular liars) Not too bad, eh? ;)

    Thanks for the fun!

  11.
Awesome! Nice to see you. Now get the next tag before you blow out of town.
  12.
Ok - this is the Canadian Edition of Tag-O-Rama!

You have an A option and a (more challenging) B option. Take your pick. :)

Have fun - San Diego is one beautiful place.

    All the best,

    Naomi

    Option A (easy):

Option B (you have to really want this one):
