    beach access
    I was looking for it and rode right by it. It is on Carlsbad Blvd. next to one of the really nice new houses on the south end of Terramar.

    markphilips:I didn't see it this morning. I'll try again tomorrow.....I realized tonight that this was closer to our neighborhood then it really hit me that it has been a while since I've gone down those stairs.


    I checked most of the stairs going down the beaches in Carlsbad except for the one closer to our house. Good TAG!

    I think I know where that is but won't get there any time soon.

    Plus, if it is where I think it is it would be East of I5. Wouldn't that be out of range?

    This is a great tag. Subtle clues in this tag photo make it easy to rule out a lot of, uh, sections. In the Google street view there is much less brush!

    It is NOT out of range.
    Edit:
    Oops, I misread the above to say "east of 15" rather than "east of I5". But I see now from the rules that the tag must be west of I-5 (Interstate-5, not I-15), and see that's what the the comment above said too.

    Anyway, yes it is out of range (east of I-5) but I agree with Sigurd (below)about making this an exception.

    I am not active in this thread at all but I would suggest we make an exception for Easton's tag even if it were to be (I am not familiar with the rules or the location) outside the boundaries of this game, especially since some members here already seem to know where it is and could catch it if they wanted to.

    We could let this one slide (pending approval from other members) since it is, after all, in a very bicycle friendly area of north county. Naturally we want to promote these areas. Inevitably, the scope of this thread/game will be "selectively" expanded to other parts of north county.

    I know the location of the new tag but not sure if I will be riding in that area this weekend.

    #5: To keep the tag moving, please limit yourself to South of Camp Pendleton, West of I-5, North of Carmel Valley Road
    Since there are only a handful of bike commuters in north county, please keep "tags" close to the PCH area.

    This was the first time I saw the area at high tide. So I sat there for several minutes to enjoy the scenery before moving on.

    On my commute home yesterday, I almost forgot about the tag. So I took this photo on the west side of the train tracks. The current tag is on the top right corner(to the right of the palm tree) of the photo. Does this count?
