    Hey y'all! i figured i would start a new thread for the miles this year... A lot of folks started last year, but slowly trickled out throughout the year... I found it to be fun & interesting to see how it all went down through the year, but I dont wanna be the only one going HEY LOOK AT ME I RIDE MY BIKE A LOT! That's just silly. So if anyone else is interested in keeping a log with me this year please chime in... if no one does i will delete the thread so its not just dead & sitting here.

    Same as last year, I'm splitting into two groups, fun & commute. Fun is stuff I want to do, commute is stuff I have to do. But feel free to split it up, or not, into whatever you want.     As of 1-2-2012... Had a nice leisure ride with Cara to get lunch yesterday & then into work this mornin.... Riding home tonight

    Spent the last two days working on the bike. So today starts the new year of riding.

    I'd like to give this a shot this year but don't know if I can/will be religious about it. I will definitely have more fun miles this year than commute as my commute is short.

    awesome! i'm glad others are on board! remember, its not meant to be meticulous and laborious... i only update about once a week, and i do not calculate the exact milage (no fancy cyclo meter, just google maps)... but just a general number so that each of us can track our progress through the year.

    @ lisi... i am jealous! i can not wait to find a new job closer to home so that i can flip the numbers this year to more fun!

    I'm going to give this another try in 2012.

    New Year's Day - 7 mile workout on the velodrome followed by Margaritas and croquet. Too warm this year for Bloody Marys.

    I'll try to keep it up this year. Last year I lost track after my computer crapped out and then never caught up.

    A: anywhere you feel appropriate... i keep it simple, anything i have to do = commute, anything i want to do = fun. but you can do it any way you want... even add another category for errands & such or whatever else you feel like. no real rules here cept to keep track & enjoy!

    i keep it simple, anything i have to do = commute, anything i want to do = fun.

    While I can't say biking to 3 grocery stores and the gym in Saturday shopping traffic is exactly my idea of entertainment, I will be classifying weekend errands in "fun" riding. After all, I don't "have to" be at the gym at 7am Saturday morning....or pickup the best deals at both Sprouts and Barons in one day!

    That being said, 1/5 is :

    Almost forgot. Last week had four commute days for me = 100 miles.

    Again, no fun rides over the weekend but lots of fun time with the family.

    I'm still between jobs, so not commuting right now.

    Last week rode four miles to claim a tag and set another, then Saturday 16 miles on the Cycling Caps and Long Attacks cafe ride (vintage bikes and equipment, last Saturday morning of every month).
