The (soon to be) wife and I will be heading to Paris late June for a little over a week. We will be doing the bicycle tour of Versailles, but I was wondering if there are any other cool cycle-related sites to see. Awesome bike shops, etc....

Esteban's Velo Flaneur blog has a great right up about this stay in Paris.

There are bikes you can rent & ride all over Paris now which are easy to grab from places all over the city and return to any of the other locations. I found Paris to be really great to get around on bike.

I would highly suggest visiting Velo Vintage in District 18 (located near Montmartre and Moulin Rouge). I've bought a couple bikes from them. What I tend to do is fly into Paris, buy a bike, go on tour, fall in love with the bike, then bring it home with me. You and your wife will have great memories, and irreplaceable souvenirs!

Wife and I started our six week honeymoon tour with three days in Paris, which was too short a stay to see everything we wanted to take in. Take rain gear. Pere Lachaise cemetery is well worth an afternoon. Say hi to Jim, Gertie, Oscar, and Fred for us.

If you stay in Versailles, we loved the Hotel de Paris on Rue de Paris.

Be careful. When it came time to get on the plane in Berlin I spent some soul searching and briefly considered staying.

Ya know, if you changed your trip to a little later, you would be there during the Tour de France.
The last day in to Paris is on the 22nd of July. I am hoping to be there.
    Just sayin. :face-devil-grin:

Hahaha, I wish we could have that long of a honeymoon. I will definitely check out Velo Vintage! As for long trips, the wifey isn't as much of a cycling enthusiast as me... Thanks for all the suggestions!
