On Sunday I was walking through the market with my bike while out on a coffeeneuring quest. I talked to any number of folks who were excited for CicloSDias in November. I came across this poster on an A-frame in the market promenade. The word is out and I'm betting it will be bigger and better than ever.

    Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Here's a link to the 'one-sheet' JPEG file that is the same as the above larger one on the farmers market A-frame:

Spread the word! It will be a great fun day!

So it sounds like there will be a good connection at the eastern end of the route to the Normal Street / farmers market tip. I'm sure many people will walk right out of the farmers market and into the CicloSDas! Excited to hear that DecoBike may have a station as well to show off their bikes and stations!

San Diego Bicycle Club is putting together a morning ride to CicloSDias. Stopping by to visit Juan Carlos Viñolo (hit last August on Fiesta Island) at the hospital before he gets released later in the week.

I had a great time even though I passed through it rather quickly. I look forward to seeing more here in San Diego. It is OUR city after all, not just some place for cars.

Next year my pop up picnic will be even bigger! The beauty of smaller Sunday streets is that you can learn to slow down, relax, and take in the urban experience sans car noise and wrath. Thanks to everyone who came by to hang out.

I was not a fan of the cycletrack, as demonstrated. Too many driveways with right hook problems or blocking problems and no way out. If there were cars parked alongside to the left, no one would see you until it was too late.

We need a lot more driver's ed and more signage to make cycletracks safe, I'm afraid. I tried riding the one on the south side of Friars a couple of times and the intersections are particularly perilous from the cycletrack if you're going straight since cars really don't seem to look for you at all... so now I'm always in the bike lane between travel lanes and the cycletrack instead. :( It's sad... a waste of (another ill-maintained) bike infrastructure.

This can be fixed with many solutions, speed bump, more narrow entrance, eliminating 3 spaces before turn
