Hub and Spoke Cycleworks is offering introductory classes for bicycle maintenance. We believe that all riders should have the knowledge to properly maintain their bicycle and/or fix their bicycle on the road. These classes would instill the knowledge for riders to be comfortable in knowing the parts of the bicycle and their function, fixing flats, truing wheels, brake adjustments, and shifting adjustments. These skills can carry over from bike to bike and the students will leave with the confidence to work on their own bike.

The class is a four session class. The classes in order are:

Parts of a bicycle and their function and flat fixes.

How a wheels works and wheel truing.

Types of brakes and their adjustments.

Types of shifters and derailleurs and their adjustments.

Each class will have a half hour of lecture and then 45min to 1 hour of hands on learning. The teacher will be there to help all students with their bike and their questions. We will, as we do with our own work, provide double checks at the end of each class. Students who complete all four classes will receive a completion certificate and the opportunity to rent our co-op bench at discounted pricing.

The Pricing for the class is $10 per class ($40 total) if you pre-register through our contact form at Walk in students are welcome but it is based on class space availability.Walk in pricing is $15 per class. We ask that you email or call one day prior to class to check availability.
